49er R.O.P.49er R.O.P. is a public education program offering career preparation classes to over 1,800 local high school students and adults each year. Sponsored by the California Department of Education through the Placer County Office of Education in association with the Nevada County Superintendent's of Schools, 49er R.O.P. is part of a statewide program designed to bring education and businesses together, working towards the common goal of educating California for today's workforce.

Tahoe Women's Center

Tahoe Women's Services believes that every person has the right to live a life free of violence and abuse. Prevention, intervention and treatment are integral components of all their programs.  In addition, they support the personal growth of individuals moving through crisis to self-sufficiency by providing a "safety net" for such needs as emergency shelter, food, clothing, transportation and energy assistance.
